It’s not easy being a few hundred miles away from your newborn and your wife. But, that’s how it is now.
I’m resorting to flying in and out every fortnightly. Something which I have to do or risk missing the early days of Jayda. Yes, some might be able to go longer without having to see their baby, but not me. I value my family more than anything in this world.
Regulating the temperature in the room is such a pain. Too hot (aircon at 27 degrees) then Jayda sweats when swaddled. Too cold (aircon at 25degrees) then she gets a blocked nose.
Had such a hard time cleaning out her nose early this morning because she couldn’t sleep the whole night crying every one hour .. sigh… now waiting for my mom and mother-in-law to look for a bamboo mat to put on her bed; it’s supposed to regulate the temperature better than fabric.
I was at the local convenient store this morning. Mom told me to get Enfalac A+ Step 1 by Mead Johnson. Was scouting high and low just to find that they were out of the A+ ones. Frustrated me!~
Saw another brand, S26 Gold which is slightly cheaper. Called mom but she insisted on Enfalac A+. There was an Enfalac without the A+, but as I later found out, A+ Triple ProGard, DHA & ARA, Dwiserat as well as Zinc, and Vitamin A which is essential to a baby’s growth. Mom told me that it was the top brand being recommended by the doctors.
I read somewhere in the Internet that according to most pediatricians, Enfalac A+ is the closest to mothers’ milk. For Enfalac A+ milk preparation, it is 1 scoop to 1 oz of water.
Well back to the shopping trip, I went back with a box of Mead Johnson Enfalac A+ (Step 1, which is for newborns). Cost me MYR 60.90 (USD 19), a few Ringgit more than Wyeth or S26. Jayda seems happy with it, so no complaints from me
